Server Gets a RAM Upgrade

I recently procured an HP ProLiant DL140 G3, 1u server to use in my #RHCSA and #CCNA home computing/networking lab. It came with no HDDs and a feeble 4GB PC2-5300 RAM.

Knowing I’m likely going to be toying with Docker at some point, I knew a RAM upgrade was inevitable. So today arrived a pack of 8x 4GB Micron UDIMMs, bringing the total up to 32GB (the minimum ‘recommended’ amount for use with docker).

The graphics card you see resting on top of the CPU radiators is there because the cooling fans blew the air baffle out of the server when I turned it on to run tests…a good piece of valuable experience for the future :)
